Code Adam!

Well today was the first and last time I lost my child at Walmart. I was looking for my hairspray and they changed their bottle style so I was trying to find which one was the one I use. I turn around and Brielle is nowhere to be found. I go up and down the aisles yelling her name and finally find some employees and ask if they had seen her. Immediately they get on their walkie talkies and say CODE ADAM three year old girl white jacket pink pants all associates stop what you are doing. I was so terrified and embarrassed at the same time. They made me go to Customer Service and wait, my neighbor that I babysat her kids last year, look and says "it's Brielle that is missing!" and runs to go find her. So I sat by myself for two long minutes and then Brielle comes strolling around the corner with my neighbor. I didn't know whether to hug her or beat her. I was so thankful she was alright and so embarrassed. She had hid in the dog food aisle and knew when everyone was yelling her name she would be in trouble so she stayed put. Oh she got a major talking to and cannot play with her toys. So there is my bad mom moment guess I am going to start doing my shopping at 12:00pm while all the kids are asleep. Sophie's 6 month Dr. Appointment

Sophie had her 6 month Dr's appointment and weighs in at 18lbs and 25 3/4 inches! She is still in the 85th percentile. She didn't have an ear infection like I thought just a little cold. He did find out she has Labia Adhesion, which is when the labia fuse together do to lack of estrogen. It happens in about 2 percent of girls and will last until she is 6. The good thing is they have an estrogen cream and every time it fuses you just put it on for about two weeks and it opens back up! I am so relived a cream can do the trick I was thinking she would have to have surgery or something. She did really well getting all her shot and will go back and get her second flu shoot in a month. We had to wait awhile since they just got us in without an appointment so Brielle played Dr. the whole time and Sophie was her patient. It was really funny when the Dr. came in she was asking him questions and telling him what was wrong with Sophie.

Fall leaves

We took a Sunday drive to look for some pretty fall leaves and found some really pretty tree's in Veyo. I was telling TJ that is one thing I really miss about home is the gorgeous fall leaves everywhere. So he took us to a place they hunt and we found some but of course had to drive 30 minutes away! There was a tad bit of snow up there and Hunter and Brielle made mini snowballs and ate them.

Sophie's first word

Sophie was sitting on the couch and TJ came in sight and she said DADA! We both looked at each other to see if we both heard her correctly. TJ just laughed and said yep that's right her first word dada. No mama that has done all the hard work, it's dada the fun one. It's not fair but really sweet she loves him so much. Now I am going to work even harder to get her to say mama!

I steal the headlines from the Utes webpage because they are hilarious!! Yeah they won 40-7!!! 7-0 we're getting ready for the big game I cannot wait!

All Star

Today for Hunter's soccer game we kidnapped Grandpa Bentley to come see him and Carter play. I knew it wouldn't be hot but I had no idea we would be in our coats and wrapped up in blankets and still be cold! It went from the low 90s to the 50s! Poor Grandpa was freezing but really enjoyed watching the boys play and they loved that he was there! Hunter scored 5 goals and played the entire time with his hoodie over his head, so cute! Go Hunter we sure are proud of you!

Chucker hunting

TJ and his Dad took Hunter chucker hunting this time. Say that five times fast, haha! They came home empty handed (yea!) well not really, they brought me these lovely wildflowers! Love my boys! Don't mind the ugly pic I just finished working out and getting ready for bed and my hair is finally growing back from when I had Sophie (yeah!!!). And Hunter's eye's are closed in all of them but hey at least they took some pictures right?

Sophie month 6

Sophie is half way to her first birthday! I am so sad she is growing up way too fast! But it's also fun watching her become her own little person. She is such an easy going girl. Here are some things she likes these days
*playing peek-a-boo
*she adores Hunter and her dad, if she hears their voice she smiles and looks around for them. (Even though Hunter loves on her too much and bugs her.)
*passing her toys from hand to hand.
*Food! Everything she has tried she loves. Sweet potatoes and chicken and oatmeal and fruit are her favorites.
*mini sit ups, and is getting stronger and stronger.
*going for walks, she looks around at yells out if she sees something she likes
*singing, yes she sings to her favorite songs on the radio well, coos I guess
*reading time, she gets double time since she sits on my lap when I read to Hunter and then Brielle. She always tries to eat the book.
She is going to kill me for posting these pic's when she's older but I just love her cute chubby body! She has a Dr. appointment in two weeks so we will see how big she's getting.

Happy Halloween!

Okay I found this great recipe for pancakes for kids using baby cereal. Sophie doesn't like the regular cereal only the one with bannana's so I have a big box full sitting on my shelf. It seems like an easy recipe to make and freeze.
Baby "Cereal" Pancakes
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup baby barley cereal (or other baby cereal)
1 cup formula (or another liquid such as milk)
1/2 cup mashed banana (or fruit of your choice)
1 tbsp melted margarine or butter (unsalted type)
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup baby oatmeal
apple juice (about 1/2 cup) Use water if you prefer
Add cinnamon, nutmeg, dash of vanilla or other flavourings if you wish!
Mix all ingredients together and add enough juice to make pancake consistency. Cook on cook top in frying pan as with "regular" pancakes!

Desperate Housewives

Awhile ago some ladies in our neighborhood called my friends and I the desperate housewives of the neighborhood as a joke. It's kinda funny I think, you see my hubby is always working at the restaurant just like Lanette, and a couple of ladies husbands work up in SLC and come home on the weekends, one is going to school and working and her hubby traveled back and forth. I don't know why that name popped up because no one is sleeping around, or killing anyone, maybe it was the catfight we got into at the grocery store? :) Whatever the reason I am going to take it as a compliment because they are all HOT housewives! We do get together a lot and stand in the street talking and maybe we have given some dirty looks unintentionally? Who knows?
So, I took the Desperate Housewives Personality Quiz and it turns out I'm most like Gabrielle. Didn't see that coming but hey its a quiz, here's the results....
You love being the center of attention and who can blame you? Life was meant to be lived and you believe in grabbing it by the reins and not letting go. Hunting Man

So I have to say I really hate hunting season, I didn't grow up with it and I think it's so mean but, I know how much my hubby loves it and he works so hard that I am glad he has a chance to do this male bonding caveman thing that he really loves. It's the same thing every year though, TJ, his dad, brother, and brother in laws all think they are going to get a "Trophy Buck" and it never happens and then they say it would be okay if they never hunted again. Then next year comes along and they get "Buck fever!" I guess it's like childbirth you forget after awhile! So this year is no different except Ryan (TJ's brother) isn't here to get lost or something like that (lova ya Ry miss ya!) So there wasn't a ton of drama this year, but after a couple of days TJ finally got one! Ewwww I know but here are some pics. TJ and his dad also went Chucker hunting and he loved it. The best part he knows I can't stand stuff like that and left them at his parent's house so I don't have to see them! Love ya Hun!

Hahahahah I thought that was a funny title I saw on the Utes homepage! Just wanna say GO UTES GO 6-0 yeah yeah yeah! Wow what a game 31-28 and I had to watch stick figures on the internet because we don't get that channel arggggggggggggg! Oh well I am glad they won , I don't know about anyone else but they are really getting my heart rate up this year!

This week Hunter is learning about all sorts of jobs, parents have signed up to talk about what they do and how it impacts the community. Today TJ went to Hunter's school and talked about his job. The kids all thought he was so cool and all love The Pizza Factory. When I went to pick up Hunter all of his classmates walked out wearing these handmade chef hats and even made bagel pizza's and a book about pizza. We had no idea Mrs. Guynn was putting so much effort into career week. It was really cute and Hunter couldn't wait to show his dad so we had to go to his work! Hunter went around showing everyone his pizza book and hat. Sorry the pic's are bad they are off my phone, I forgot my camera.

Brielle had her first show and share at school today and wanted to bring Jax. Jax was a little nervous about being there but once he saw all the kids he got excited. The kids all loved him and asked some pretty good questions. Bailey asked where we got him and Brielle said "Walmart!" I guess you can get anything at Walmart right? I quickly told her from a family in Hurricane.

It's that time of year.....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween. It's my favorite time of year and always has been. I love everything about it, carving pumpkins, making yummy treats, and finding fun costumes! I grew up on scary movies, and always loved coming up with outrageous costumes. I started 7 years ago collecting things when they go on sale and each year get one new thing and it's accumulated to a pretty big collection. My first was the big spider web and my favorite is the pirate my dad got me last year. It's a fun tradition putting it up and the neighborhood kids love it. We also have a big halloween party every year and it's really fun to see everyone each year in their costumes. We have such great friends and family that come every year and I know they secretly love it! The pictures do not to it justice so if your are around Oct 30th stop on by for our potluck!

Not a baby anymore

Hunter is growing up so fast, it makes me sad that my little buddy is not a baby anymore. It seems like yesterday it was just the two of us figuring out life together. The other day his friend called him and wanted him to come over and play. The girls were asleep and I knew they would be waking up soon and I didn't want to wake them to take him so, I told him maybe later. He said he could ride his bike. Well Jake's house is four or five blocks away, its not on any busy roads just in our neighborhood but he has never gone by himself. Tons of boys his age ride their bikes further than that. Hunter looked at me with his beautiful blue eyes and said "Mom! I am not a baby anymore, you treat me like a baby, I can ride by myself!" And at that moment I realized he isn't a baby he is a big boy. So I asked Jake's mom if she would call me when he got there. Luckily he made it safe both ways. So my little boy is not a baby anymore. It seems like such a small thing but in this world today it's hard to watch them go on their own. Today it's riding is bike tomorrow its driving a car or going to college (your right dad.) You try to protect them from anything bad but you also know they need to grow and make their own way in the world. I love you Hunter, you are such a special boy. And I promise to try not to treat you like a baby anymore :)
