Sophie's 2 year check up!
Sophie had her 2 year old check up (I know 2 months late, it's been crazy) She was so timid and didn't really talk to the Dr. until he asked her if she was Mommy's girl then she said "NO! Daddy girl!" We laughed, she set us straight! She was not happy about getting the shots and as we were leaving was still pointing to the bandaid saying "Ouchie" The nurse felt so bad so she asked if she wanted a toy and Sophie shook her head no, then the nurse asked if she wanted a coupon for a free kids meal at Del Taco and Sophie said "Mmmmm, Yes!" Funny thing is we have never even eaten at Del Taco. The best way to Sophie's heart is food! After that she was fine.

Post its
Hunter has done this for awhile but since he has been recovering it's gotten worse! When he sees things he wants on tv he pauses it and writes down the information, then he sticks it inside our cabinet where my shopping list is. He has now added the price including shipping and handling silly boy! It makes me smile because TJ is always getting hooked on something being sold on TV and would buy it if I didn't laugh at him. Good thing Hunter hasn't figured out how to order or I might be getting packages for random toys all the time!
3 days post-op
Here is the new belly button! It has been 3 days and he was allowed to take off the bandages and shower! He was nervous to take it off and the stupid cotton ball was really stuck on there. Healing still has a way to go and it will look different in a month or so the Dr. said, but I think it looks pretty good already!
Hunter looked at it and was so excited, he said, "It doesn't stick out!! But it looks weird." I told him it was just like a scab it takes time to heal and look normal.. He then said "I can't wait to go back to school, chicks digs scars!"
Oh no! Is that why he wanted surgery, for a cool scar? He is doing really well he can sit up and walk, he probably could do more but I think he is scared and likes the attention. Not that I blame him, who wouldn't want to lounge around, watch tv, read, color, and be catered to all day :) We will let him milk it for as long as he wants, I like being able to cuddle with him whenever I want too!

Hunter's Surgery
Warning long boring post for most of you :)
The day I have been dreading has come and gone, and thankfully everything went smoothly. Hunter was born with an umbilical hernia and the Dr said we would watch to see if it closed on it's own until he was five. Well, it never fully closed but it wasn't ever a concern because it was so small and the only reason to do surgery was if the appearance bugged him. So we told him it was his body and if he wanted it fixed we could do it but told him it was surgery and not an easy fix.
A few months ago we were reading and he told me he wanted his belly button fixed because when his shirt comes up people always ask what's wrong with his belly button. As parents we were faced with a difficult decision, we didn't want him to think that surgery fixes everything but at the same time we didn't want him feeling bad about himself at such a young age. So we made an appointment and basically told him he was in charge and we would do whatever he wanted to do. He had to ask questions and we didn't sugar coat the procedure at all. He was excited and hid his nervousness well, probably because he knew I would cancel the surgery if I thought he was too scared :)
The day before the hospital called and told us we had to be there at 6am and most likely the surgery would start around 7:30am. TJ and I were a nervous wreck but hid it well, even though it was a simple outpatient procedure it is still heartbreaking having your child put under anesthesia and in other peoples hands. They would make a smiley face insicion under the belly button and push everything in and stitch it up inside. Then they glued the insicion and bandaged it up. Hunter didn't seem scared at all he was so excited and even though he said he wasn't nervous you could tell he was a little. They took him back around 7:45am and we went to the waiting room. Around 8:45am the Dr came out and said everything went well and as soon as he woke up we could see him. 45 minutes later I was starting to get worried and then TJ looks over and said "The nurse said it would take around an hour for him to wake up right?" Um, yea! Don't remind me! At that moment the nurse came out and told us we could see him. I was so relieved! Hunter looked good just really tired and loopy. He had all the nurses wrapped around his finger, they thought he was so cute. We have to wait until Saturday to take off his bandages and then he can shower. As for now we will enjoy watching movies and snuggling as long as it takes for him to feel back to normal!

Swimming fun
Since Hunter won't be able to swim for a few weeks we let him invite some friends over to swim and bbq hot dogs! These boys played basketball and slide down the slide of 3 hours non-stop! I was exhausted watching them!
Pinevalley fun
We decided to go up to Pinevalley for some family fun since Hunter is having surgery and won't be able to do anything for awhile. It was so cool up there compared to the 105 degree weather we had leaving St. George.
We went on some 4 wheeler rides and on one we visited the ponies, Sophie was trying to crawl under the fence and would try and hug them saying "Oh horsey, neigh neigh" and squeal in delight!
We did a little fishing and once again didn't catch a thing :) We were only there for an hour or so though lol
Nothing like dutch oven potatoes and chicken for dinner!
We made peach cobbler and watched a movie to end the night.

Brielle's birthday party
Brielle doesn't turn 5 for a few more weeks but I told the kids they could have friend parties instead of family ones when they turn 5. Of course Brielle remembered and wanted to invite some friends from school and since they don't live by us and she doesn't play with them all the time, we decided to have an early party. She wanted a fairy princess party....
The set up before the craziness began
As the girls arrived and we painted nails, put on fairy tattoos, added some glitter make up and lip gloss, and they were starting to look like fairies already! When everyone arrived we ate pizza and breadtwist of course :)
Then games: Pin the star on the wand, and musical flowers, we also made crowns.
Opening presents and cake.
Then the girls received their thank you bags, wings, and wands (the flower was a hair clip too)
There is such a big difference between boys and girls parties, it was hilarious, dramatic, and loads of girlie fun! Hope you had a fun party fairy princess Brielle, I love you so much!
