Minors

The whole family helped Dixie Little League with their tryouts for the Minor and Major leagues (10-12 yr olds)

Hunter and TJ managed the field, the boys had to catch 2 fly balls, throw to 2nd and 1st base, and then hit 3 times and run around the bases. The coaches were all there rating them and then after made up the teams. I was in charge of registration and putting numbers on each player.

We were there for 4 hours and it was cold when the sun went down! I luckily brought blankets and gloves, so the little ones and I all snuggled together.

We went to Wendys after because it was almost 8pm and I didn't want to go home and cook, we were starving. The fruit snacks, granola bars, carrots and snow peas didn't go far with all of us snacking :)

We got home and got everyone to bed when TJ got a call from the President of the league (one of our neighbors) that Hunter's name had come up and he was being Drafted to the Minors, he then asked if TJ wanted to coach a minors team instead. We thought if he was going to be drafted at least we had the option to coach a team!

We originally were going to keep him in his own age group 8-9 year old machine/kid pitch to have another year being top dog, he just found he can pitch pretty well and we wanted him to get some more practice. But the other coaches thought he was too good to play and drafted him up with the 10 and 11 year olds.

TJ had the disadvantage because during tryouts he wasn't thinking he was going to be putting a team together so he had no clue who to pick but we are all about the boys having fun and learning then making them All Stars :)

It should be a fun and interesting season! GO CUBS!!!
